About this support
Where medication support forms part of an individual’s agreed care plan, appropriately trained staff support with medication in accordance with company policy, risk assessments and relevant professional guidance.
What Support May Include:
Reminding someone when their medication is due
Prompting and encouraging adherence according to prescription
Assisting with opening blister packs or liquid dosage aids
Accurate recording and logging on medication administration records
Immediate reporting of missed doses or adverse reactions to management
Liaising with local pharmacies for repeat prescription collections
